Savoring time with friends

As our time here in NC is growing short we have been spending time with friends while we can, enjoying their words of wisdom and encouragement.

The Burkes had us out to their new house... and Blair and I unknowingly dressed as twins.

The Bedingfields met us at the park -- during one of the 25 showings that we had to leave our house for.

We have enjoyed our Sunday lunches with the Deuces...
Tim Brown and Ed Schroeter surprised us with their culinary expertise when they cooked us an 3-course dinner that was so delicious.  It was only topped by the conversation.... we laughed and laughed and came away re-charged as they gave us some good parenting perspective.

We are so blessed with the people in our lives!

Girls Weekend

Since both Hayley and I are leaving soon, a group of us went to the mountains to enjoy a whole weekend together.  Rumbling Bald Resort on Lake Lure did not disappoint!  We had a cozy time talking, walking, exploring and eating together.

It's hard to believe most of these girls were college students when I first met them!  We've seen each other through all kinds of LIFE over the years.

All of these women are so good about being intentional in their friendships and I was so thankful for their sweet words as they went around shared things they appreciated about our years together....  What a treasure friendships like these are!  They've taught me so much.

Love

Jinna, as I hug her:  You never let me go?
Me:  Nope!  This is love.
Jinna:  Love is never letting go and the world is beautiful!

One more round of Cotillion

These 2 are next up - -and last up -- for attending Cotillion!  After hearing all the stories from their older siblings, they were pretty excited to go.

After their first lesson they came home and started practicing the Foxtrot together, which was about the cutest thing ever.

Looking forward to getting some manners knocked into 'em!

Daily philosophizing

Colsen continues to pose random deep questions and make profound statements out of the blue all the time.

Just now he said, "I think childhood is a time of becoming.  It's becoming who you want to be, but also, more importantly, it's becoming who God wants you to be that matters."

I wish I had been as wise when I was 12!
