Bike Parade and Old Fashioned Fun

After all the running came the biking!

This is one of our favorite days of the whole year... the kids all countdown to it.  They put a lot of thought into their bike decorations this year, too.

 This year the Clarks and Kai and Addie came to join in!

 Off they went around the loop...

 .... and 5 minutes later it was all over and we headed to the park.

 Rayna's name got called -- she won first place!

Then it was time to enjoy a picnic lunch with family and friends, and play some old-timey games.

 And do some dancing.

Afterwards we went to some friends' house for dinner and fireworks, and then came home to yet more fireworks.  What a day -- the peak of summer certainly.  The kids are already calculating how long until next year's festivities!
