There are caves underneath and behind this castle that people can tour! We did not do the tour due to the facts that A) we didn't want to spend the time-- still had more to see; B) we don't particularly care to be in small, old caves underneath very old buildings. Call us claustrophobic.
But there was a cute little patio where we could sit and eat ice cream, so I did that while Pete The Health Nut had cappuccino instead.
Then, it was time to head back to Ljubljana for our 2nd castle of the day.
After a brief rather long detour, we made it back to our apartment and then walked across the plaza to the castle up on the hill. We rode the funicular up, but I refused to ride it down (waaaaay to steep) so we made the 10 minute walk down at the end.
The castle audio tour was interesting and gave history about that spot dating back to before Christ.
