Jinna loves talking about, hearing about, and singing about "Jesus and God." All through the day she is likely to thank Him for the beautiful day or the great food, or ask me if He is pleased with what she just said or made or did.
But bedtime is when we get to see her joy for the Lord the most. She can't wait to read her Jesus Storybook Bible, which she often clutches to her chest and says is her best book. Her current favorite story -- on page 214 she'll always remind us -- is called "The Little Girl and the Poor, Frail Lady." It's the one about Jairus' daughter getting raised back to life by Jesus, and I should record Jinna sometime as she hears it for the bazillionth time. She is SO animated -- every time -- and loves to anticipate what is coming next. Right from the beginning when it all looks so hopeless for the sick little girl, Jinna starts saying, "Maybe Jesus!"
Then we sing songs -- always Pete or I sing and then she sings. Sometimes she requests "The Lord Our God is With You," and tonight when she sang it herself. The first line was, "The Lord Our God is with ME." It makes me happy to see that she believes it and takes joy in that fact.
We have loved this unique opportunity -- of being able to introduce Jesus to a school-aged child -- and getting to watch her grow in her faith. What a contrast to her life in a godless orphanage. We pray this faith continues to grow and bloom and shine bright her whole life.
