First Day of School

Celebrating Rayna's birthday was fun this year because our church went on a big hike and picnic!  She had a great time -- especially when the group sang to her at the end.  :)

 

A Day at Presque Isle

 We had planned a family trip to Lake Erie at the beginning of the summer, and as the day finally got closer, the weather forecast looked worse and worse.  We decided to give it a try anyway, despite the fact that it was supposed to rain most of the day.  Sure enough it was still drizzling when we got to Erie.... but by the time we actually pulled into the beach (after stopping for lunch at Wegmans of course!), the rain stopped!  We had just the right amount of time playing in the sand and water, and enjoyed some ice cream afterwards before heading home.

 Mom and Dad graciously agreed to come watch our kids while Pete and I escaped for a night!  We went to Deer Creek Winery, about an hour from here, and enjoyed a quiet time of walking and talking.  It was a treat!
