Waxhaw Parade!

This year was our first time at our new small town's 4th of July parade... and I think we've found a new tradition.

Our friends from church gave us some tips ahead of time and we scored with a prime location (read: under trees in the shade!) and plenty of fun people to visit with as we waited for the parade to start.  Felt like tailgating with all the food the women brought!  More friends from church found us, and it was a regular party.

The best part was that there was a nice long, Jesus-centered prayer before the parade began.  I love living in the South!

This parade was full of creativity.... Did anyone else's 4th of July parade feature a pirate ship and a covered wagon?

And a highlight was seeing EmilyKate walk by.  :)

Happy birthday, America!!
