World Cup game and Skofja Loka

Our long day -- Italy and 2 castles -- was not quite over.  After a delicious dinner in the old town, once again outside on the main thoroughfare, we sauntered back to our street to watch the World Cup game.  Since Croatia was playing, and we were only a little over an hour from the Croatia border, the crowd was pretty excited.

We sat at a patio table and drank beer (Pete), and since we were right outside our apartment door, it was easy to keep popping back and forth all night.

The good news was -- Croatia won!  The crowd went wild.  :)

The next morning we wandered around Lljubljana a little more, and I surprised Pete by showing him that I had brought a lock to add to the city's Lock Bridge.  We put our names and date on it and then left it there for all posterity.

Then it was time to bid farewell and set off for Skofja Loka, the oldest preserved medieval town in the country.

It was so weird to think that people actually LIVE there!  It was pretty quiet since it was Sunday and we had a nice lunch and walk.

Afterwards we made short drive, again through several small villages to Radovjlica, our home base for the next 2 days...
