Beach safety

As I mentioned before, we have a lot of non-swimmers among us on this beach trip, so the rule is:  When going near the ocean, all kids must hold hands.

Yeah, right,. 

When that doesn't work, we tell them they all have to say in a tightly formed play circle:


And after that doesn't work longer than 3 minutes, we give them a lesson of what NOT to do with jellyfish...

...and then we just put lifejackets on them or rafts under them and closely monitor them.

 And if someone insists on running out in the water too much, we just put them in a trench that they can't get out of (for 10 seconds only!).
So far a couple of these strategies have worked!
