Other miscellaneous vacation highlights (and lowlights)

Highlights in pictures:

+Adult-dinner time.  There were 12 people at the table each night, and at least 13 conversations happening at the same time any particular moment:
+Encountering a big crab:

+Singing to Mor-Mor on  Mother's Day:

+Miniature golf (the girls went on their own special trip, not pictured):

 +Laughing with cousins:

+Walking to and from the beach on the most beautiful path:

+ Some pool games/tricks:

+ Watching Mor-Mor play with all the kiddos:

And other highlights not recorded in pictures:
  • Uproarious adults-only game-time in the evenings.  For some unexplainable reason, we kept playing (for lack of a better name) "Guess what everyone else wrote on a little piece of paper"  The categories ranged from celebrity names, to movie titles, to authors.... to light bulb wattage.  Maybe.  Each round got progressively more ridiculous... to the point that Dan pronounced it the stupidest game he has ever played in his life.  Still, we laughed a LOT.
  • Watching Miles encounter some white sandwich bread.  He thought it was so soft, he started rubbing it on his face.  (there, James)
  • Body-surfing and raft-surfing the waves.
The only real lowlight for us was missing John, who is faithfully serving our country in Afghanistan.  But at least he sent his representatives!

And the other lowlight of the trip, for us, was probably the very end, on our way home.  After we had been traveling for several hours, and were all overtired, hot, hungry, etc., Miles finally fell asleep.  Ten minutes later, Colsen announced he had gotten a lemon seed stuck in his ear.  After examining the ear, we realized we were going to need my tweezers to get it out.  Of course the tweezers were buried at the very bottom of the huge luggage pile in the back of the van.  So, there we were on the side of the road, unpiling everything in the very packed-van.... and then Miles woke up and started his post-nap tantrum.  It was a great time.  Not.

But if that was the worst thing to happen, then we had a fantastic vacation indeed!  And we did.
