(Quote from Strider: "I can't believe I survived! Ok, that's silly: no one has actually ever died from school.")
So now we are on to our summer schedule. As school winds down for the school-age kids in our house, it ramps up a bit for Pete and me. This month we are both teaching summer courses for Wingate, so our schedule is a little nuts at times.
And it's also time for us to establish our summer goals. After some collaboration and discussion, this is what we've come up with. (We are pretty certain these will not all be achieved... but it gives us something to work for!)
Rayna:
- Learn how to tell time (this is a carry-over from last year)
- Learn how to tie shoelaces (even though none of her shoes actually have laces that tie)
- Memorize Psalm 1, Psalm 8 and Psalm 23.
Strider:
- Learn Bible Bee material (He signed up for this contest that will take place in September -- and the list of what he is supposed to learn for it is 300 Bible knowledge questions and 1075 Bible verses! So, we made a schedule that has him learning 150 of those verses, and all the Knowledge questions... we'll see how it goes!)
- Be able to do 60 push-ups and 5 pull-ups
- Be able to run around the pond in front of our house in 1 minute and 10 seconds.
- Learn the names and sounds of the alphabet letters
- Memorize Psalm 1
Me:
- Help the kids accomplish all their goals
- Develop a new tutoring program
- Exercise 3 times a week
Pete:
- Develop his new "capitalism" course for the fall
- Run 4 times a week
- Make dinner twice a week (Ok, I actually just added that for him. I think he'll be excited about it, though.... right honey??)
Even Miles has a goal for the summer, according to Strider: Learn to sit up!
So..... off we go!
I love your goals! We are STILL doing school. Not sure how much longer I can push them or me...summer beckons us all. Miss seeing you all every week. Miles will be a different baby by fall, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteAs long as various meats on the grill count, I’m in (side dishes optional).

Wow, I can't believe your goal for Colsen of learning Psalm 1. Our goal for Kai this summer is for him to learn one word.
