This year's costumes

Much as I dislike Halloween, I do enjoy seeing the kids get all excited about what costumes they can wear. No exception this year!

Strider decided to put his flag football team jersey to good use by dressing up as Al Harris, who apparently is a famous Packers player. He (Strider, not Al) had found a funny hat that looked like long hair, so he put it under a borrowed Packers hat. It's kind of hard to see in these pictures, but he tried to match up a few details... it was fun watching him this year.

And Rayna happily dressed as a hula dancer -- and then played the part. Her favorite aspect of Halloween is, as it is every year, the neighborly visiting. Pete and Strider started to get a little impatient with her since she apparently wanted to stop and have long conversations with the hosts at each house.... and the guys were on a mission!

And Cole and Milo dressed as dragon and knight.... I think Miles wanted to know why he had to be the dragon, instead of the cooler dragon-slayer. All in good time.
As everyone was getting ready, Colsen informed us that his (imaginary) puppy was dressing up as a princess, so I guess this is a fun day for everyone!

(except for Miles who can't get the silly hood off fast enough)

Tonight we're planning on doing our annual All Saint's Day tradition -- house-wide hide-and-seek in the dark, with flashlights (if we can find them)!
