So last week I didn't have a camera, and I missed some picture-worthy events -- such as Rayna and Strider testing for, and receiving, their next belts in Taekwondo, the kids visiting the animatronic Christmas singing bears in the city, and going to a Christmas play.
This week, I had a new camera so took a bunch of pictures- - whether they were picture-worthy or not! So here is a look at some of this week's happenings:
1. Pete's been busy with session meetings at church. Since some of his best friends are also in these meetings, they end up being pretty enjoyable for him. Here's a scene from their most recent meeting:
Alright, alright -- just kidding. Same players, different party.
(There may have been kids and wives at this gathering. The dads are good sports.)
2. It was "Black Eye Week" around here. Within a span of about 12 hours, Miles managed to fall two different times, in each case hitting the corner of an eye pretty hard. So he's walked around with matching black eyes this week.
Then Colsen, in a case of brotherly solidarity, also fell and hit the corner of his eye.
3. Bird Spotting. Despite the freezing temperatures lately, the kids have still wanted to go out and play, and on this particular day they were excited to see some large birds. First they noticed this giant Egret on the roof of one of our neighbor's house:
Then, after playing around the pond for a little while...
... they got to see a flock of geese come in for a splashy landing.
But the funniest birds I saw all week were of this variety!
I think they're of the Loon family.
A few years ago, we decorated Daddy for one of our evenings of our 25 Days of Christmas. The kids knew it was coming all day, but we didn't let my husband in on what the plans were until it was time to start. The kids thought it was hilarious, and we got some great photos that year!
