Arriving in Chisinau was also a new experience... From what I could tell, I think ours was the only arriving flight at the time. So we walked off the plane, walked into the airport, went through the very quick customs line, grabbed our suitcases which were already ready for us, and walked out the front door. How nice and simple! The whole process took less than 8 minutes.
A driver brought us to the apartment where we were finally reunited with our menfolk. The reunion was mostly a very happy one, apart from the major tantrum Miles threw when he was told he couldn't go up the elevator with Daddy since there was no room with all the suitcases. I carried the screaming child up the 4 flights of stairs and was quickly re-immersed back into full-scale motherhood.
After we had settled in, I started to feel tired, but Rayna was a little energizer bunny. She went all over the apartment adjusting things and figuring things out. The kids all started doing obstacle course races -- it was fun to see them all playing together:
And I got a kick out of this:
...Right away she had set the little table, even though it wasn't yet dinner time. The girl likes order!
I also think it's funny that our apartment only has 4 regular glasses/cups, so the kids keep drinking out of wine glasses.
Our kitchen is a little small for 6 people to eat in.
But we're making it work.
The washing machine, on the other hand, is a complete mystery to us, since it's all in Russian...
Overall the apartment is wonderful, though, and we're very thankful to be here -- and all together!
oh man - that washing machine is crazy... Y'all are true adventurers :)
