Fall Break

Yesterday afternoon marked the first day of our Fall Break!

To celebrate, we went for a hike in the woods.

We walked...

..and walked... ...and discovered things...
...and climbed.... ...and climbed and climbed....
...and found big sticks....
...and walked hand-in-hand...
...and found a cool bridge....
...and finally had to take a break!

Then we had our semi-annual dinner-out-at-a-restaurant experience, during which we were reminded of why we don't do this more often.

I got this one picture, but the rest of the time we were too busy taking kids to the bathroom to re-wash their hands, disciplining Miles, taking kids to the bathroom, taking Miles out of the restaurant to spare the other diners, picking up spilled ice/water, picking up food thrown on the floor, taking Miles back outside.... etc. Pete and I ended up getting to-go boxes and eating our food at home.

Then, today the kids earned a big reward. They had been working since August on another round of "putting rocks in the bowl" by doing loving acts for others (here's the explanation) and finally completed it! So, they're big resulting treat was...

GOING TO MONKEY JOE'S WITH SOME FRIENDS!!

They had a great time playing Kai, Chris and Sam! It's been a fun Fall Break so far. :)
