This year we are excited to be participating in a "community garden" with 4 other families.
So this Saturday, Pete took the older kids out for the first real work session -- preparing the plot and getting organized. Our friend Rachael has all kinds of plans and heirloom seeds to plant... I can't wait to see all the harvest! Last year this same garden produced over a thousand pounds of produce. 
The men did the harder work, but even the kids pitched in for the planting (potatoes) and watering.
Meanwhile, here at home a couple weeks ago we started some of the tomato seeds that will be later planted in that garden...
Ah, the promise of spring and sowing!
