Garden Chronicles

Pete has been the chief gardener of our family up until now (since he can stop at the community garden on the way to or from work), but this week I finally got a chance to go out and see the progress myself.  Strider, Colsen and I went out for the morning, and it was beautiful!

We had a great time getting dirty, weeding, watering from rain barrels, planting sweet potatoes and talking with our friends.  And, we got to leave with 9 pounds of harvested vegetables (potatoes, green beans, lettuce, swiss chard, zucchini) -- and a dozen laid-that-morning eggs!
Strider also got to play with his friend Cooper for awhile.  I love watching him out on the farm, getting dirty, climbing up on shed roofs, canoeing and swimming in the pond, being "tracked" by the wild wolf (dog), shooting sling-shots... a good Tom Sawyer kind of day.
